Rosa was a clerk at a supermarket. That day resembled like any other,<\/p>\n

The mother started apologizing, saying she never wanted to abandon Sue, <\/p>\n
but she had no choice because she got herself in trouble and was running from some dangerous people she owed money to. She was scared for Sue\u2019s safety so she thought it would be for the best if she left it.<\/p>\n
Sue asked her why she never tried to find her after that, but her mom said she was too scared.<\/p>\n

\u201cHoney, I need money, and you have plenty of jewelry, I thought I could sell some of it.\u201d<\/p>\n
Sue grabbed the jewelry. Among the pieces was the diamond necklace Rosa gave her when she graduated from university.<\/p>\n
\u201cDo you know how hard Rosa worked in order to be able to save money for this diamond necklace?\u201d Sue yelled.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut you have so much, let me sell some of them so that we can have the money,\u201d the mom continued. \u201cWe?\u201d Sue asked. \u201cThis isn\u2019t about us, this is about you. I forgave you for abandoning me, opened the doors to my home to you, and this is how you pay me back? By stealing from me?\u201d<\/p>\n
The mom started crying. \u201cPlease, don\u2019t get mad at me. I am sorry. I am going to change.\u201d<\/p>\n
But Sue didn\u2019t want to listen to her. She told her that she already gave her a chance and that was it. She asked her mother to pack her belongings and leave the house. It was obvious she only returned because she learned Sue was successful.<\/p>\n
That evening, Sue went to Rosa\u2019s place, the only place that ever felt like home.<\/p>\n
When she told her what happened, Rosa said, \u201cYou took a chance on someone who loved you, that\u2019s what you take away from this experience.\u201d<\/p>\n
