Being a handyman is a job that many people find to be interesting. They never know what they will encounter from day to day, and occasionally they might even get a surprise or two.

Any repairman will tell you that they must pay attention to instructions given to them if there is one thing they will all agree on.

If you don’t follow the directions, you could get into trouble, and the repairman in this tale got himself into a terrible predicament.

Laura called a repairman after her dishwasher stopped working. She informed the repairman that she had to go to work the following day, “I’ll leave the key under the mat. Fix the dishwasher, leave the bill on the counter, and I’ll mail you a check.

“Oh, by the way, don’t worry about my bulldog, Bob. He won’t bother you. But, whatever you do, do NOT, under ANY circumstances, talk to my parrot! I repeat, do not talk to my parrot!”

The following day, when the repairman went to Laura’s apartment, he found the biggest, meanest-looking bulldog he had ever seen. But as she had predicted, the dog did nothing but sit there on the carpet and watch the repairman work.

The parrot, on the other hand, drove him crazy the entire time with his constant yelling, swearing, and calling names.

The repairman finally lost control of himself and yelled,

To which the parrot replied, “Get him, Bob!”
