After posting a video of an MRI, a surgeon caught
the attention of many by showing how a patient’s
injected hyaluronic acid fillers had increased and moved on their own over time.
The findings shocked thousands who said their fillers never disappeared.
Dermal fillers are gel-like materials injected under
the skin to bring back lost volume, smooth out lines
and soften wrinkles, or enhance facial shapes, according to the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery.
Every year, more than a million people choose this popular facial rejuvenation treatment as stated by the board.
The most common type of injectable fillers is made from hyaluronic acid and usually lasts for 6 to 18 months.
Oculoplastic surgeon Dr. Kami Parsa went viral after sharing MRI footage
Dr. Kami Parsa is an oculoplastic surgeon in Beverly Hills who shared an MRI video on his TikTok account on July 12. The clip showed how injectables changed the patient’s face.
The patient was a woman aged 33 who had received over twelve CC (or milliliters) of hyaluronic acid filler during six years.
In this video that gained over seven million views, the MRI displayed a grey face with green spots lighting up in different areas like lips and cheeks where filler remained present.
Dr. Parsa didn’t mention what procedures were done but explained that when he measured her filler amount it totaled twenty-eight CCs.
