Jacoby Jones, former NFL wide receiver and Super Bowl hero,
tragically passed away at his New Orleans home at 40, just
days after being inducted into the Southern Intercollegiate
Athletic Conference (SIAC) Hall of Fame. His family confirmed the death,
sharing that Jacoby passed peacefully, surrounded by his mother Emily
and son Jacoby Jr. They requested privacy and prayers during this difficult time.
The cause of death has not been revealed.ributes poured in from across the NFL,
with former teammate J.J. Watt remembering Jones as a fun-loving and joyful presence,
while Torrey Smith called him his “brother” and promised to support his family.
Jones is best remembered for his key plays in the Baltimore Ravens’
Super Bowl XLVII victory, including a 56-yard touchdown catch and
a 108-yard kickoff return touchdown, the longest in Super Bowl history.
