Amid devastating wildfires in Los Angeles County, Mel Gibson’s Malibu
home of nearly 15 years was completely destroyed. The fires, driven by
harsh winds, have claimed over 10,000 structures, at least 10 lives, and forced the evacuation of 300,000 residents.
Speaking to NewsNation, Gibson reflected, “It’s just a thing, but it’s emotional.”
Despite the destruction, he found humor in the survival of his chickens: “They pooped,
they were fine… not roast chickens.”While his home and memories were lost, Gibson emphasized,
“My family is safe—that’s all that matters.” His resilience mirrors the
