President Donald Trump called for an apology from Bishop Mariann Budde
after she used her inauguration prayer service to urge him to show compassion
for the L G BT Q+ community and undocumented migrants. Trump criticized her
as a “Radical Left, ” figure and, described the service as “boring” and “uninspiring.
”In her sermon, Budde called for unity and mercy toward marginalized groups,
stating that most immigrants are law-abiding and contribute positively.
She also asked Trump to show compassion for those fearing deportation and
for refugees.Some attendees, including Rep. Josh Brecheen, also objected to her political tone
