My MIL Demanded $600 for Walking & Feeding Our Dog While I Was in Labor

After bringing our baby home, I found a note from my mother-in-law demanding $600

for taking care of our dog during my labor. Jake promised to handle it, but I made a plan.

I created a folder listing all the favors we’d done for her, like helping her move and paying

for car repairs, and presented it as an “invoice.” She was furious, but I stood my ground,

reminding her that family doesn’t charge for favors. She stormed out, and Jake agreed with me.

At least she wouldn’t ask for money again—unless I had to pull out the folder
