CBS anchor Norah O’Donnell recently shared the emotional impact of her skin cancer diagnosis.
During a routine checkup, she discovered she had melanoma in situ, a type of skin cancer,
which was caught early. O’Donnell received the biopsy results just before Thanksgiving and
underwent surgery in January to remove the melanoma. Though the cancer was 100% curable
and the procedure was successful, the diagnosis was deeply frightening and transformative
