Carrie Underwood, a farm-raised songstress, has embraced gardening in recent years, calling
it one of her “happy places” for reflection. She and her husband, former hockey player Mike Fisher,
settled on a 400-acre property in Franklin, Tennessee, in 2011, creating a private retreat with horse stables, a lake, and rolling hills.
Underwood, who also nurtures chickens and an orchard, added a greenhouse in 2023 to further her passion
for organic living. She enjoys growing tomatoes, squash, peppers, and other vegetables,
with an emphasis on sustainability. The family eats food sourced from their land, including homegrown produce and meat from Fisher’s hunting.
Underwood has become dedicated to self-sufficiency, aiming to eliminate store-bought food.
She has even taken up beekeeping and is considering adding donkeys to her farm. The property
also features apple and peach trees, blueberries, and blackberries, offering a continuous supply of fresh ingredients.
Underwood’s vision for a sustainable home extends beyond the garden, as she and Fisher have created a beautiful,
expansive estate, complete with custom-designed living spaces. Their journey toward this self-sufficient lifestyle
has been years in the making, and Underwood continues to learn and grow in her gardening efforts.
