Family Denies Rumors in Teen Stabbing Case A spokesperson for Karmelo Anthony, 17, who is charged with fatally stabbing athlete Austin Metcalf on April 2, has
denied claims that the two teens knew each other before the incident. Metcalf was stabbed during a dispute over seating at a Frisco, Texas track event and died
in his twin brother’s arms. Anthony admitted to the stabbing, claiming self-defense. Online rumors, including fake posts from accounts impersonating officials,
suggested prior conflict or “mutual combat.” Dominique Alexander, speaking for Anthony’s family, called the claims false: “Austin Metcalf and
Karmelo Anthony did not know each other.” Alexander also said the family has received racist threats and urged respect for Anthony’s right to a fair trial
