I live with my ex-husband, and recently, without asking me, he changed our porch light to green. When I questioned him about it,

he simply said it was for his father, who had passed away, but didn’t explain further. I was curious and started looking into what a green porch light means.

They’re a subtle but powerful way to show remembrance or support.

So, while I was confused at first, I now understand my ex-husband’s green porch light is likely

a quiet tribute to his late father—perhaps for his service, mental health struggles, or simply in loving memory.
