My MIL Insisted on Wednesday Babysitting—Then My Daughter’s Odd Behavior Led Me to a Hidden Camera

When my mother-in-law Cheryl offered to babysit my daughter Beverly every Wednesday, I thought it was a kind gesture. We weren’t especially close,

but it gave Bev a break from daycare and saved us money. At first, everything seemed fine—until my daughter began acting strangely.

She started mentioning “Grandma’s friend,” and withdrawing from me. One night, she whispered, “Mommy, why don’t you like our friend? She’s

part of the family.” Alarm bells rang. When I asked Cheryl, she brushed it off as an “imaginary friend,” but I didn’t buy it. So I installed a hidden camera.

What I saw broke me.

Cheryl welcomed someone into my home—Jason’s ex-wife, Alexa. The woman I was told had moved away.

Bev ran into her arms like she’d known her forever. Then Cheryl told my daughter not to tell me. My world collapsed.

I rushed home. Confronted them. Cheryl admitted everything. She believed I was a mistake, and Alexa should

still be part of the family. They had secretly been reuniting with my daughter. Manipulating her. Undermining me.

I left with Bev and told her the truth in the simplest way: some people lie, and we don’t let them back into our lives.

Jason was horrified. He cut Cheryl off immediately.

Some people don’t deserve second chances.
And some people don’t deserve to be called family.
