Mom Warns of Dangerous ‘Abandoned Stroller’ Scam

A viral warning from mom and real estate agent Nancy Walsh has sparked serious concern after she spotted

an abandoned stroller on a remote country road. With no one around, the eerie sight prompted her to

post on Facebook: “If you see a stroller, car seat, or baby item alone in the middle of nowhere, don’t get out.”

Her post, shared over 23,000 times, included photos of the stroller beside a tree-lined road, lit only by her headlights.

Many commenters recognized it as a common scam tactic — designed to lure caring drivers

out of their vehicles, only to ambush them with theft, carjacking, or worse.

“Call 911. Stay in your car. Don’t approach,” one user advised. Others shared similar warnings,

noting fake cries for help or staged medical emergencies used to trick Good Samaritans.

Though some said baby gear is sometimes left out for donation, most agreed it’s not worth the risk.

One woman revealed police warned her about similar setups involving people lying roadside.

Walsh’s message is clear: help when you can, but protect yourself. Let authorities handle

suspicious situations. In today’s world, even kindness requires caution.
