James Craig Murder Trial: Shocking Testimony in Wife’s Cyanide Poisoning

James Craig, a former Colorado dentist, is on trial for allegedly poisoning his wife, Angela, in March 2023. Prosecutors say Craig laced

her protein shakes and medication with cyanide, arsenic, and tetrahydrozoline—found in eye drops—causing her death after weeks of unexplained illness.

In opening statements on July 15, 2025, prosecutors detailed Craig’s online searches (“how to make murder look like a heart attack”)

and evidence of premeditation, including buying poison under false names. Witnesses testified Craig was having multiple affairs and faced

serious financial stress. An office manager recalled receiving a suspicious cyanide package marked “Personal,” which was tied to Angela’s symptoms.

Perhaps most disturbing, one of Angela’s daughters testified Craig asked her to plant a fake “deepfake” video of Angela

requesting poison to frame her death as a suicide. Experts confirmed the toxins found in Angela’s system pointed to deliberate poisoning.

The defense claims Angela may have taken her own life and questions the credibility of the evidence. They admit Craig was unfaithful but deny

any intent to kill.Craig, 47, has pleaded not guilty and remains in custody on $10 million bond. The trial is expected to continue for several weeks.
