Farmer’s $6,500 Bull Purchase Took an Unexpected Turn

A local farmer spent $6,500 on a young Black Angus bull, expecting it to be a strong investment for his herd.

At first, the animal looked healthy and promising, but concern soon replaced excitement. The bull showed little

energy and no interest in the role it had been purchased for, leaving the farmer worried that his money had been wasted.

Unsure what to do, he called a veterinarian for help. After a full examination, the vet confirmed that the bull wasn’t sick or injured—just

young and not fully developed. Instead of drastic measures, the vet suggested a simple and harmless solution: peppermint-flavored pills.

Skeptical but willing to try, the farmer followed the advice. Within days, the change was dramatic.

The once sluggish bull became lively and enthusiastic, performing exactly as expected. In fact,

his renewed energy extended beyond the farmer’s land, as he even helped neighboring farms with their herds.

The farmer, both relieved and amused, laughed about the surprising turnaround: “He’s like a machine now!

I don’t know what was in those pills, but they sure tasted like peppermint.” What began as

a worrisome mistake turned into a lighthearted story that spread through the farming community.
