The May 13 “Bragging Rights” show featured coworkers from a pediatric medical office: Sam Oh of Cypress,
Texas, and Houston teammates Peter Jung and Daniel Park. Workplace pride added extra tension, with losers
agreeing to wear “Wheel of Misfortune” shirts designed by Jung’s wife. Confident from the start, Oh declared he wouldn’t need one.
He backed up his confidence with strong play, solving “Giving a Little Pep Talk” in the Jackpot Round, winning a Costa Rica trip,
and later “Surround Sound System,” ending the main game with $28,050. Jung trailed with $16,450 but claimed
the $1 million wedge and a Maui vacation by solving “Macadamia Nut Cookies.” Park finished at $1,700 after solving “This Girl Is On Fire.”
That set the stage for Oh’s Bonus Round. His category was “Phrase,” and the puzzle revealed as “O_T O_ _ _ C.” With nerves showing,
he chose C, G, M, and O, but his guess — “Out of…” — trailed off. The correct phrase was Out of Whack, leaving the million-dollar prize just out of reach.
